As ‘Prime’ consultant to Austin Bergstrom International Airport, our team was tasked primarily with providing professional architectural and engineering services to the City of Austin’s Aviation Department. I served as Project Architect, Coordinator, and Designer in all task assignments. Highlights included, providing architectural investigation, design recommendations, and programmatic support on various airport terminal facility improvements, emergency power facilities improvements, the evaluation of a new site as a possible new cellphone lot, and the relocation and renovation of the Airport’s new Ground Transportation Staging Area facility (GTSA). For this particular project, Our team was in charge of providing, architectural design, LEED Silver documentation, site, MEP, civil, permitting, and procurement services for an existing and previous car rental facility with a small maintenance building. As Project Architect, I was in charge of programming and design of all building related renovations and construction, including new outdoor shaded areas for over 100 people. I also closely collaborated with Sunland Engineers on the design, paving, grading, utilities, and storm water quality improvements of the site.
